Buy up fare class from Flight Pass

Quick question for Flight Pass users: has anybody ever been successful at buying up to a P fare from an M fare that is a flight pass credit? This can be done with a regular M fare (or any fare below P), but two agents have told me this is one of the ways in which flight pass fares are different, and that it can't be done with a flight pass. I am actually inclined to believe them, but thought I would check here to see if anybody has managed to do this, and if so, how.

I have never tried it. I am also inclined to believe that it is not meant to happen.

You don't have an "M fare". You have a flight pass booking in M class. There's no fare to buy up from.

Never too early or too late to be pedantic is it?

If you look at the receipt you get for a Flight Pass booking it reads, and I quote: "Fare Type: Flex, M"

Yes, but cow is objectively pedantic, which is way better than being subjectively pedantic like many others are here.

I have never tried this myself despite having purchased dozens and dozens of unlimited Latitude FPs.
ffsim likes this.

Yeah, like others I suspect that it just isn't possible. Oh well.

I don't believe he is trying to be pedantic. Instead, he is logically explaining why he believes it won't work. But I am just standing on a turtle here.

Also, the answer to OP's question is no. Hopefully that was just standard.

To upfare, you need a fare. Like M0Q2FL.

If you don't have a fare, you can't upfare.

FPs are so cheap because they have various restrictions, one of which is that you bought 10 M-class bookings, which can only be booked into M class.

What about YCONFP? Or whatever it is.

It's on the fare basis of the ticket. Where the fares go. So...
