Equivalent fare class on code share flights
I have a united code share flight on AC coming up. On united it is booked as G fare class. This seems to have mapped to FLEX when I review ticket on AC website. Last week I had a similar flight and it mapped to TANGO. Does AC not use the same alphabetical fare class system as united? What are the equivalents? Im very confused.

I have struggled with that same thing. I used to use this tool but I suspect it's out of date now. To be honest it wasn't always all that helpful in the past either.

If it's UA operated by AC, you can call AC and they can tell you what fare class it maps to for your specific flight/route. However, G is United's lowest fare class (before their Basic Economy) and has always mapped to a low fare class on AC.
In terms of alignment of booking classes across airlines, *A airlines have tried to align as much as possible over the years, but there has never been true alignment.

When AC aligned their fare classes a few years back, most of them seemed to line up at that point, but with the subsequent changes and branded fares, they don't seem to line up as well as they did a few years ago.
I had a UA ticket last week with an AC segment, and the UA G fare had mapped into an AC K fare, so I'd expect your G fare may be the same. It showed as "Flex" when I'd looked it up with the AC PNR, but it credited as K for mileage and was considered as a K fare for eupgrade requests.

How do the branded fares work? When you purchase united 016 code share seats on AC there are different prices for different fare classes. I always assumed that a higher price economy fare bucket would confer more benefits, but thats not the case if AC is mapping them to the lowest fare class.

But after you buy ticket on united you cant see the fare rules. Im looking for the fare rules on AC so I can determine the class (first letter) and whether tango or flex (end). When you use your code share AC confirmation number, AC system just says FLEX or TANGO with no class, which would reflect the mapped fare class.
