Thanks! This led me to "autostereogram".

Not exactly what I was looking for, but getting closer...

Say, I want to make a Mona Lisa out of the thousands of hotel key cards collected, for example.

For me that's simply a collage or maybe a mosaic.

I also think you are aiming for mosaic.

Are you thinking of something similar to Lincoln in Dalivision by Salvador Dali? Not sure if the style is actually called Dalivision but I believe his piece is named that... perhaps that may help as a key word to look up?

Further to the suggestion of mosaic, aside from the type using pieces of glass or other similar materials, doing an image search delivers an amazing collection of examples using non-traditional materials. Also very cool

Unfortunately I no longer live in Vancouver and relocated back to Toronto upon my graduation back in May.

Hope you will enjoy the great city though! :)

Being year 2, I suppose it is now a tradition. In which case, my traditional NYE timpano prep work starts tonight.

Please note that a number of posts have been moved to the FT Travel Tools forum for further discussion since that's the ideal venue in which to discuss sites to track miles and/or hours flown by FTers. The thread may be found here for those looking to continue the conversation.
