Black Friday deals?

Well, Westjet has posted their Black Friday sale with some pretty good deals. When can we expect to see Air Canada's counteroffer?

ie: YUL-YVR and YUL-YYC for $98 per direction. Not bad.

“Expect” is a big word to use in reference to AC.

Oh, and never.

I'd argue it's Black Friday for Jetballs crew.

There's lots of chirping in the media, but the salient point is Swoop has $1.4b of capital behind it and Jetballs have about $1.50 behind them.

Therein lies the difference.

Why do you think WJ has a "Black Friday" sale targeting particular routes?

Any big guesses who might be out there on Bay Street and elsewhere shaking the bushes for investment capital right about now, after 4 years of futility? Any theories as to how much success they'll have when investors see WJ offering $99 trans con fares?

Be aware of the bigger picture.

Idk why bay street would even invest in airlines tbh. If anyone wants to turn $1B into $1M, let me know

AC usually does a general black Friday sale, then a cyber monday sale with a discount code.

Same here. Nothing too extraordinary, unfortunately.

Very underwhelming, especially if you want anything other than Tango. One route i was looking at went up in price.

Some good pricing in Tango to China for anyone interested.

For my personal small picture, I just bought my first WestJet fare in over a decade. $550+ savings for a transcon flight in Y overwhelms any lounge-using, AQM-acquiring, frequent-flyer benefit extracting argument that I previously would of have used to justify booking with AC.

Over the past 3-4 years, the Cyber Monday code for 15% off all fares and a good selection of codeshares has been much more worthwhile.

Ooh, how does one get this Cyber Monday code? Is it good for any/all flights booked that day? Newbie Inquiring mind(s) want to know...
