Nice to see more European service for those of us out west!

Are ZRH and CDG summer seasonal or year round?

Question answered from link posted by hnl808 - summer seasonal.

Air Canada has just announced that they will offer new service from YVR to ZRH/CDG.

Additional capacity to DEL and LHR. MEL will go from seasonal to year around.

AC says this in their press release:
"The new Vancouver-Zurich flights will connect to and from destinations in Europe, Africa and India with Star Alliance partner Swiss International Air Lines."

Hopefully they do a better job of offering code shares/connections on LX than is currently the case for flgihts from YYZ - seems that AC prefers to flow people through FRA and connect on LH than the lower-cost (due to high German airport fees) and better service Zurich option.

Glad to see YVR getting long overdue and much needed expanded Europe service. ZRH/CDG logical choices. Local staff/catering/cargo already in place expanding on existing services. ^

I'm gonna like the direct YVR-CDG-YVR, do it several times a year via YYZ..
AF does it now twice a week but only use it when I've reached my 100K status...LOL!

I am amazed at the capacity increase to Australia over the years.

I do hope they firm up the agreement with Virgin for some reciprocal domestic recognition.

Last week, the reshuffling of NRT flights to YUL was a big announcement press event.

This week, YVR's additions are, IMHO, more substantial, and to much less fanfare.

Hopefully the YVR-CDG and YVR-ZRH aren't "direct" versions of YVR-YUL-CDG and YVR-YYZ-ZRH (like YYZ-YVR-SYD and YYZ-YUL-GVA).

It's worth noting that during the press conference it was mentioned that AC wants to launch Delhi year round in due course.

Departures to ZRH and CDG are so early in the day that it would be very inconvenient for sleeping.
