Executive pod or Classic Pod LHR-Calgary
Flying business class from LHR to Calgary next month and i cannot find out which seat type will be on our plane.
The AC website shows the Executive pod and the Classic pod as two options, please can anybody let me know which will be on my flight?
My flight back will be Vancouver - LHR and I am curious to know which seat will be on that flight also.
Thanks.

As far as I'm aware, the only YYC-LHR direct is AC 850, which is operated by a 77W.
Similarly, the only LHR-YVR direct is AC 855, which is also operated by a 77W.
There are no 77W's left in operation with the old pod style ... they are all the new style exec seats.

However, the 330 has virtually disappeared from the west. 763 more or less same apart fom domestic. So recently, has been switching between 777 and 788/789. Both the LHR and FRA routes. Both feature the newer pods.

How long till all the 330's disappear in general? I'm looking at flights to AMS and I am having a hard time paying for 4 J seats in a 330! Especially after the 789!

They opted to add Premium Economy on the A330, so they can't be getting rid of them that soon (no PY added to B763). However, they didn't invest in upgrading the A333 J hard product.

It's a tough call. They only have 7 of the A333, but they aren't that old - only about 16-17 years. Where as the B763s have 10 more years on top.

This said, looks like the 763s are quickly being moved to Rouge.

Perhaps the 8th one is this one:

There was rumor that it would be written off, but it has been back in service:

To me the major difference is the entertainment system. Which is not that high on my priority list.
