Aeroplan RTW on points - How much of a challenge?
My wife and I are looking at booking a round the world (business class) trip on points.
Do we fall into the routine of trying to book business class points tickets when they are released one year out, for is it possible to put together an itinerary and book the whole thing at once?
No idea how to get started on this, so would appreciate any advice.

The days of airlines loading all award availability 360/355/330 days in advance are long over. It still happens and it definitely doesn't hurt to check, an dpossibly grab those two business class seats if they're really, really important to you (e.g. YVR-SYD).
Otherwise it really depends on how long your trip is supposed to be. 1 month? 3 months? 1 year?
At least if it's a shorter RTW, I'd try to book all segments at once since availability for segment 1 may influence your onwards routing etc.

RTW rewards are a waste of points. For approximately the same number of points, you
can do 2 RTWs by booking 3 separate rewards: North America - Europe return with
2 stop-overs ; Europe-Asia return with 2 stopovers; Asia - North America return with
2 stop-overs. This way you get one east bound and one west bound RTW with more
stops than the 5 permitted on the official RTW award.

Look at the threads on mini-RTWs.
There are several in this forum.
