Air Canada First Class
I know some of you guys like to say that AC does not have a first class.
I just got my boarding pass for first class on AC8

It's their new Premium Economy. The marketing folks figured it needed a rebranding.

Obviously issued by an interline carrier. I get AC-issued, on AC stock boarding passes for flights on AA, complete with my AAdvantage number. Looks a bit weird. Once got an unsolicited comment from a Rabbi who spotted my AC pass in the boarding line for an AA flight at MIA, "you're in the wrong part of the terminal, AC is in the other terminal".

Was your AC flight booked in "Z" class?

CX's system seems to think "Z" class is "First Class". Note: CX uses "Z" class for award First Class redemptions.

It was a cheap PE flight and I upgraded the HKG - YVR portion.
