Redemption: YOW-LHR
Hello looking to redeem miles for YOW-LHR
webste showing ac options as well as united.
I want to minimize fuel surcharge.
if I call in can I get a routing on Swiss to avoid the fuel surcharge (even if I don't see that option online)? Any other options other than united?

Yes, you will need to detour on United, you can call in to force YOW-YUL/EWR/BOS-ZRH-LON - but
a) it may be over mileage allowed
b) you will pay $33.90 phone fee
You will have to ensure availability is there for each segment.

My folks recently redeemed Aeroplan online with UA to avoid the scamcharges to fly YOW-LHR. They routed YOW-IAD-LHR and that included taking the IAD-LHR dayliner. They loved getting into LHR in the late evening without really being jet lagged for once.
