If you want aviation epic, have it at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, part of YHM. Not only do you get a chance to fly in old planes but they do catered functions, anything from dances and weddings to smaller parties.

Will this be a yearly Dorian Enterprises Air Canada EPICDO? :)

YXY is a great idea, it's an amazing place and if we had a decent enough size of a group, the newspaper, government, etc would probably support. Make it a northern aviation do (vs AC specific) and Joe Sparling (Air North CEO) would probably sponsor and maybe even work out having it in Dawson City with a charter up from YXY on the HS148.

I suspect, however, the amount of time required to fly to any of them and have a do might not include driving around time. YQM - 6 times daily from YYZ YQY - Daily from YYZ YFC - 3x daily from YYZ YSJ - 4x daily Then there is the coverage to many of these from YUL, and the 30 minute hops from YHZ. We're not bereft of service out east you know! |

YYG - Twice daily from YYZ (ok it's Rouge, but 1.45h flight)

I meant to fly between them as in YHZ to YQM to YSJ etc, not flights from ROC. I was following on the post about how close cities in the Maritimes are to drive versus fly
YXY would be really cool btw, it'd probably be the only non-east place I'd consider going to for this one! |

Personally, I'd love to do a Buffalo Air run up the Mackenzie Valley.....Hay River, Deline, Norman Wells and for the adventurous Tuktoyuktuk. |
Depending on the when, I'd be interested in attending one of these infamous DOs.
I'll be working in Greece until Sept 9th, and then back to Athens again for most of November. Copenhagen Oct 11 to 18. |

Whitehorse is a cool place, but better for early fall than late fall. Winter comes quick up there. If going in say, November, make it an aurora borealis DO and go to YZF?

Am I misinterpreting you, or have you got your northern territories confused? YXY is in the Yukon, and all the other places are of course in the NWT. And we need a serious, sit-down chat about flying Buffalo. If you're squeamish about Air China, there is no reason on this earth you should step within 100m of a Buffalo airplane.
Still, I'd also like to visit Hay River and Norman Wells for some weird reason. You know I would never do any weird flying before checking with you :) |

For this to be an EPIC do, if this ends up being in a location served by EVAS, we should ensure that an entire 19.....err.18 seat (due to the incident) Beechcraft 1900 is filled to capacity with FTers attending the DO.

A bit south of the border but I'd vote BFI. I know a flying related building nearby that could host any size do :D
|
If available, I'm most likely in.
How about the new Rouge route to KEF or inaugural flight to MEL??? (Also like the idea of heading north to Yukon or NWT). Shirt size: Medium. |
