Has anyone here recently have eStore miles post without having to file a missing AP points/miles credit claim or contacting someone at AP?
|
I'm still waiting for an order in early April and one at the end of May. I have not submitted a claim for either yet.

I had thought about aggressively posting on FT about this as a matter of informing fellow FTers about the ongoing problem. |

It may be a small thing but it's really not fair. AP and their partners have induced us to purchase in certain ways - now that they've received their benefits from our purchase they're not interested in holding up their end of the bargain. |
Chiming in here as I work in the affiliate industry, which is what Aeroplan eStore uses and have worked with the Aeroplan eStore team in the past. Couple tips just in case:
- Make sure you have cookie tracking enabled. This is what gets reported back to the merchant network and signals you made a purchase. - Make sure to not be using a private browser or ad blocker. Same thing, it will block the signal from being sent and will delay you in getting points, in any at all. 5-6 weeks for points is conservative at times as Aeroplan is more than likely waiting to get their commission from the merchant before paying you out. Sometimes that could take months, depending on a few factors: - The merchants own payout policy and return policy. They might not pay out on orders till after the return period as ended, for obvious reasons (they aren't about to give you miles if you return an item) - How often they pay the network. If they don't only pay them every 2 months and Aeroplan is waiting for their cut to pay you, that will delay it. -Any other tracking issues they might have had with their affiliate links. If you use Honey or Ebates for Cashback, it's the same thing. Ebates just generally pays out quicker for most merchants as they are a HUGE company with tons of money. Even then, they only send cashback checks every 3 months to account for any returns. That being said, I'm still waiting a month later for my Amazon eStore points but I know they take forever. |
Usually Aeroplan points for Amazon purchases have posted in about 4-6 week time for me in the past.
However for Amazon purchases I made back in early April this year, the points are still missing and it's been 8 weeks and counting. |

Very unexpected surprise because I had to chase it in the past. |

Seems the problem is a bit more widespread. I have used the estore at least 5 times the last month and not a single transaction has posted. I called today to inquire if by any chance there was something wrong with my account. All i got was the standard 'wait 8 weeks before making a claim'. Not sure then what to do at this point other than wait. |
I think elenea86 (above) is on to something though - this time, I made very sure to pause my ad blocking app, enable the cookies and so on.

Easy way to bypass is this add what you want to your wish list, click through Amazon and then add to cart and boom :) Most of the bigger guys like Apple, Hudson's Bay, Gap, etc can still track the sale even if you have cookie blockers enabled but don't count on it. I use to work with Aldo shoes back in the day and unless they have changed their setup, they are a prime example of a company that can't track it if you have it blocked. |

I use to work with Aldo shoes back in the day and unless they have changed their setup, they are a prime example of a company that can't track it if you have it blocked. I follow the same pattern each time, ensure blocking is off on both the eStore and the merchant sites (even though I've removed it permanently before), be logged in, go via the eStore page, don't have items in carts etc. It doesn't matter. I was receiving my Amazon generated miles within 2 weeks until the end of April, that's simply stopped. I *finally* got another set of Amazon miles yesterday but AP has *clearly* slowed down crediting in this area. Dell, Lululemon, Hudson Bay, Indigo, Hudson Bay, Turbo Tax, etc. just nothing. FINALLY got them to credit for Turbo tax this week after submitting a claim awhile back. Lululemon has confirmed the AP has the purchase data almost immediately. An AP call centre worker said she herself had submitted 7 claims just the day before. There is lots of evidence that this 1/2 billion dollar company is either incompetent, refusing to provide resources to ensure they fulfill their promises, or deliberately stalling in the hopes they'll collect referral fees for free. |
Purchases from Hudson's Bay usually post within a week. My most recent purchase was May 6th, and those showed up as expected.
|
The miles for my Amazon purchases from early to mid May just posted in my Aeroplan account.
However some purchases from April are still missing...I have a bad feeling about this... |
Another datapoint.
As mentioned above, Hudson's Bay is very good at posting consistently within 10 to 14 days. Kiehl's is always very slow or missing altogether and requires follow-up most of the time. Clearly Contact is very fast, usually within 10 days. Apple is usually quick for me, however, that late April promo of 7x miles had me nervous as nothing posted until overnight: https://www.aeroplan.com/static/gfx/...rLogos/APE.jpgApr 24, 2019APPLE STORE CANADA1,526 https://www.aeroplan.com/static/gfx/...rLogos/APE.jpgApr 24, 20197X MILES PROMOTION9,152 https://www.aeroplan.com/static/gfx/...rLogos/APE.jpgApr 24, 2019ESTORE AEROPLAN STATUS3,052 Very pleased with my new Macbook purchase... |
