YYZ AC Delays - Runway Construction - April 7 2017
Those who've been through YYZ recently, know this.
For those who check FT headlines.......
"$30M runway construction at Pearson airport leads to ground delays"
http://www.cp24.com/news/30m-runway-...lays-1.3356804
And on AC.com

Significant number of YYZ/YSB cancellations, as well as the surrounding "feeder' stations. A fella I know going ORD/YYZ/YYB had a 5 hour day go to 12 hours from start to finish this past week due to runway issues at YYZ. Inbound to YYZ cancelled and was re-booked and cnx cancelled and was re-booked and that left 1 hour behind schedule.

I wonder if AC is happy with the planning and contingency plans put in place for YYZ...
Maybe AC can fill out an online form on torontopearson.com and get a 15% voucher for their next contract renewal (applicable on base fare only).

I will check the planned end date when I get back to work tonight. I believe it's 3 phases. Phase 1 ends mid April (first 1/3 of 05 closed), then middle 1/3 closes till mid May (which also causes grief to the 33s). Finally the last 1/3 gets done in the fall.

All the applicable aerodrome NOTAMs for the runway/taxiway construction are valid through April 24th, with various aids to navigation affected until mid-May.

The YYZ airport authority was specifically quoted on the news saying that disruptions will likely last until June 1st.

Which is why I am pointing out how long the delays could go on for--any airline (not just AC) operating out of YYZ needs to be more accommodating. The whole thing has been very disruptive.

Both my outbound and inbound flights were cancelled this week due to this "runway construction" I am travelling again this week, will see what happen again. Really not looking forward to force overnight again with Easter Friday coming up

If AC has to cancel due to this, who is responsible to accommodate the pax?
