Aeroplan Ticket Crisis! Need help :P

Was book on YYZ-ORD (Y) on AC and then ORD-HND (F) on ANA on an aeroplan reward. YYZ-ORD was cancelled so AC decided to rebook me to YYZ-HND direct on AC (Y). I called to have them rebook me on the same routing but at a different time for the YYZ-ORD portion so that I can keep my F ticket.

Get the confirmation back after thinking the agent succeeded in the change - but found out she rebooked me on ANA Y for the ORD-HND portion.

Any ideas on what to do? AC says there are no seats in ANA F in their system but you can easily book an F ticket online for the same departure. This was a dream trip that was supposed to start today so any help is appreciated!

AC had the IROP. AC has to fix it.
They may be looking for reward seats in First class (O fare) on ANA and not just First Class itself (not sure what the letter code is on ANA for revenue First Class, sorry).

Wish me luck!

Booked in F, then rebooked in Y. Yep, that's Aeroplan.

Way to go!

I'm glad to hear that it didn't result in a protracted battle!

I would argue that the typical rock's ethics are far better than Aeroplan's, since a rock would never try to substitute a vastly inferior product for the one originally purchased like AE tried to do to the OP.

But do organizations have ethics? Or only the people involved?

Didn't the OP call AC not AP to change his reservation to try to keep the F segment?

Such a pathetic program where one has to take a "hard stance". A ten year old can figure out changing J to Y direct or not is a lousy substitution and they should also have known how to rectify it.

Stuffing a client into a 15 hour flight in torture class combined with letting one pay for a J trip with points and giving them Y is pretty low.
