Planning for a YEG Do with EIA; **8 Feb. 2017 date cancelled**

As it's been some time since the Flyertalk community gathered in Edmonton the expression of interest by EIA executives to host a group of us in late Jan./early Feb. seemed quite timely so wanted to kick start the planning by getting a show of hands on who can make it and when.

The possible dates that have been thrown out are Mon., 30th Jan., Wed., 1st Feb., Thurs., 2nd Feb. or Fri.,3rd Feb. While the Fri., 3rd Feb. is so far the preferred date it's still somewhat changeable. For me personally a Fri. night event would work best but have some flexibility.

It would be an early evening event hosted by EIA within the terminal but the exact format, venue and start time will follow once we have a more definite idea of numbers which ideally would be before Christmas.

The last event held at EIA a few years back was very interesting & informative and drew about 30 of us so hope we can have as good a turn out for what I'm sure will be another good meeting between very frequent flyers and airport planners.

Every time this comes up I realize how bad the flight options are on SFO-YEG

I'm interested. How late in the evening would the event run - would it end early enough to catch the last flight of the day back to YYC? I'd rather not spend a night in YEG if I don't have to.

If we start around 7 we should be done around 9 and in good time for AC's last flight back at 2210. A few other hardy YYCers have done it the last time we had the event so should be possible.

Count me in for the get together. I actually prefer Friday night. Last time the airport did a great job with presentations and tours. Thanks for organizing TCook !!!

Thanks but the credit should go elsewhere as I'm merely a communication channel but it's good to here you can make it. ^

Gah. This is potentially a DO I'd fly out for. But I'm in Africa around those dates.

I am assuming a 'DO' is some sort of party? I am in and out of YEG often and could plan some travel around this.

Can anyone explain a little more?

Thanks

Yes, a Do is an casual get together of frequent flyers over dinner & drinks.

A Quiet Affair

This EIA sponsored event will be very casual and will start at around 5:30 on the night that gets selected. No tours are being set up.

A few words will be spoken and then it will be a 'mix-n'-mingle' with a few executives present to chat on a personal basis. Tom Ruth is planning to attend.

It will be at the Renaissance Hotel probably in the Halo Lounge.

Dinner is usually unhosted unless tcook052 springs for it!!^
