I dont know if its too early to post this but it looks like I will be $41 ADQ short this year. My AQM will be at 115,00. Should I hope for the best or figure out somehow to get that last $41 spent without going over. (Its like the price is right, where you lose if you go over)

The bottom line is it's never certain; if you really want the status, the only 100% way to get it is to qualify, but AC has been known to make exceptions.

If I was $0.01 short of SE I’d make it up given the differences between E75 and SE. Ease of doing this (cheaply and easily) depends greatly upon location.
Especially if one was $41 short of $10k and not resident within Canada.

In 2017 I qualified as 35K and received an offer to step to 50K on Dec 7th for $699. I already hit 50 segments by that point so decided to wait and see if I might have any last minute trips. I did but it wasn't enough to give me enough qualifying spend (I ended 2017 with 44% AQM (22,197), 108% AQS (54) and 84% AQD ($5083)). On Dec 28th I received a second email about the step up offer and logged in to accept it but the price was $ 899. Anyone had this happen where the price goes up (even though I flew 4 additional segments in December)?? Very frustrating to say the least.

What are the chances of a buy up option from e50 to e75 with $10,000 AQD, 55 AQS and 40,000 AQM?
thanks

Ms. Boh got offered a buy up to P25K for about $500 just before the end of the year. She was at 23K at the time and a trip to LHR took her over anyway.
But that's a lot of money for very few privileges IMHO.

I also, along with others, query the value of spending $750-$1000 on E75 over E50 unless you wish to gift someone.

Likelihood Of Status Bump Offer
Hi,
A sweep must have happened today because I've gotten some new options, not the least of which is to select benefits.
In 2017 I had:
AQM: 40698
AQS: 34
AQD: $9608.78
I've been awarded E35K. With an AQD beyond the 75K, do you think at the very least I'll get offered to pay for a bump to 50K? Is it worth it based on the numbers for such a bump from last year?
Typically if that kind of offer was forthcoming would I have seen that before seeing this 35K applied? I've received no emails yet.
If not offered a paid bump to 50K & *G, can one ask to receive that offer?
For context, most journeys start in YYT causing the high spend. I typically book FLEX and pay for preferred seating. In 2017 most of this was split between travel to US and travel to the UK. I anticipate that in 2018 there will be more travel, mainly to US.
I expense everything so lounge access is not that big of a deal to me. I'm just as happy to eat and drink in other establishments. When I end up going overseas I don't mind paying for a PP lounge as I typically end up in some remote destinations that are not serviced by *A. I need to get a little smarter in those instances and use *A farther into the journey but I've been trying to get there as quick as possible up until now. For example two trips to Reunion Island last year orphaned a lot of miles I spent in seats between LHR and Roland Garros when if I had gone to Frankfurt or SA I could have earned more miles.
I'm more interested in a J upgrade from time to time on my return trips just as a treat to my 6'4" frame. I'm debating between selecting the 35% bonus or the 10 credits at this point.
Thanks for your thoughts.

You're not even close to AQM or AQS for 50K...

Thanks for pointing that out.
I'll admit that I was hoping someone could describe how they make the decision to offer it. Does it have to be a certain % below the threshold for both AQM/AQS & AQD or could significant overspend on AQD be enough to put one on this radar?

Nobody, outside of AC, really knows how that decision is made. Your guess is honestly as good as anyone elses.
