ya, some of our names are pretty hard to figure out :D

Thanks to all!

If my last pass turns up I'll offer it in the appropriate place then.

I was going to say, quite a few of us have put about zero effort into masking our identities.

They know who I am :p

Say My Name: Breaking Bad - YouTube

Before your Cactus Club do, I walked into the concierge office, and one of them said, "Scott, right?"

I don't think I'd ever met her before.

Do you suppose they know the true names for Ken and Dorian?

LOL.

And if all else fails, there is always the thread where everybody freely posts their year-end AQMs and AQDs down to the last mile/dollar.

Might as well sign the post. :D

I remember last year when we had the thread where everyone explained their FT user names, some people said they used other people's names/initials. Perhaps I should change my user name to BenS or CalinR or something and rant about AC.

Well, not everybody.

I thought I would be able to qualify for E50K this year. Living temporarily in the US for the year, most of my trips were on UA but with half-price AQD treshold, I thought it still be feasible.

At the beginning of December 2016, I had over 35K in miles but hadn't met the AQDs treshold. My qualification depended on only one big vacation to South Africa. I bought the ticket on AC website so it would count for AQDs:

Outbound (Dec 2016)
YUL-LHR AC J
LHR-JNB SA J (AC codeshare)
JNB-CPT SA J (AC codeshare)

Inbound (Jan 2017)
CPT-JNB SA Y (AC codeshare)
JNB-MUC SA Y (AC codeshare)
MUC-YUL LH PY (AC codeshare)

On my ticket, the price of the outbound was 1500$, inbound 700$ and YQ 700$. After checking on ITA Matrix, I expected the attributed value of YQ for the outbound at 470$ and expected to have approx 2000$ in ADQs for 2016 (the remaining value to be credited in 2017). All numbers rounded.

When the miles posted for the the outbound, the AQDs were less than half of the total ticket price (including YQ) and around 600$ less than what I expected to be credit for the 3 segments.

I filed a discrepant ADQs form that was responded within hours. I was told that there was no mistakes and that the AQDs were prorated to the distance of each segment on the total value of the ticket.

I ended up the year with 50 500 miles but short of about 200$ on ADQs for E50K. I had a few exchanges with AC but there was nothing to do, so I resigned to be E35K this year.

I read this blog extensively and haven't found any information on this particular matter so I thought it would be interesting to share as I learned it the hard way.

I don't want to sound rude, and lord knows I don't have time to read everything on this board, but the issue of AQD being allocated based on the total ticket price allocated by mileage issue was discussed in numerous threads over quite some period of time. This exact scenario of a trip over year-end with different values came up more than once.

Someone even built a calculator spreadsheet to help FTers calculate and manage their AQDs: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...les-aqd-2.html

So, while I have plenty to criticise AC about, I'm not with you on this one.

That being said, $200 is fairly close. Did you check all of your other tickets earlier in the year to make sure there were no discrepancies there? It's pretty late in the game, but might not be too late to get is corrected and get your status updated for the new benefit year if there were any that they did get wrong.

My roommate received his SE package today.

He selected his privileges in January.

I selected mine on the first day it was possible (December 4 or something like that).

My package has not arrived.

? qualified 35K, "time to choose your prestige 25K privileges"

So I qualified last year for exalted 35K status, got the card etc., and now am being asked by the Altitude website to "choose your Prestige 25K privileges". Any ideas what's going on?

Only thing I can think of is you received early recognition for E35 (i.e. you qualified before October 15, 2016) and therefore received the 2016 version of E35 status through Feb 28, 2017. However, you need (35,000 AQM or 35 AQS) and $4,000 AQD to qualify for Elite 35k in 2017. If you missed the minimum AQD, it would explain your Prestige status for 2017.

What was your final AQD?
