Has anyone tried to use Plusgrade/AC Bid upgrade with a debit card instead of a credit card?

Business bid Econ vs Prem
Hi guys, any idea if the min bid offered to business is different from economy vs premium? We booked two seats recently with one as flex and the other as comfort, the minimum bid upgrade from both those fares is identical.
So wondering if our minimum bid options would differ when doing it from a premium fare vs econ fare. In addition, I've never booked a standard fare in the past, but, is there upgrade options from that category? Enquiring for an international flight with connection in Canada. Cheers! |
Excuse my ignorance as this is my first time using ExpertFlyer. Flight from YYZ-ATH in early May is showing J9 R0 Z0 and return flight is J9 R7 Z9.
Based on reading this forum, the AC Bid Upgrades are tied to class J so 9 each way seems promising. Do I need to pay attention to R or Z when deciding a bid? I've got bids in the "still modest" range but am considering bumping up if those other fare classes matter. Thanks! |
You don't need to pay attention to R or Z. It essentially comes down to whether RM (Revenue Management) decides 48 hours out whether they can get more for the seat than you bid. If they're content with your offer.
I have 100% success on my domestic offers the last 2 years (minimum bid to either PE/J on 3 class, or J on 2 class) providing the flight isn't sold out 48 hours in advance. LMU's, different story. Alot seems to change with IROPS / etc in that T-48 hour frame. |

By the way the 900 is CAD and not USD. Should I up it a bit you think?
There are currently 12 occupied seats, 1 blocked. But there are 19 seats sold of the 29 for sale. The flight's J10. |

It's been 10 days since that post, where it appears the data was coming from "the seat map" (never ever do that).

I get the booking ref ineligible in the upgrade portal for a YVR-YYZ flight next week, I see on expertflyer that therse at least 9 J seats both ways so does that mean it just hasn't been open for upgrades yet? As far as I know these are just normal economy tickets booked through AC not group bookings

My flight is on Tuesday night and the wheel says the amount looks good. Can someone please check it again for me how the business class looks? It is AC 56 on the 2nd May. Thank you.

It looks like once you make a bid, there's no increasing it?

FWIW this is browsing from desktop. App/mobile experience may be slightly difference. |

The salient language is: You can change your offer at any time up to 48 hours prior to the flight’s scheduled departure time, provided your offer has not yet been accepted by Air Canada. To do so, simply click on the ‘Modify’ link in the email you received when you submitted your offer. Alternately, you can access the AC Bid Upgrade application by entering your Booking Reference and last name on the AC Bid Upgrade webpage |
When are bid upgrades usually approved? I am trying to decide if I should use my eupgrade credits for an upcoming flight I submitted a bid for
