E25K worth it?

Currently in NYC. I need 4K more AQM or 4 more AQS to make E25K... is it worth it?

Or just ignore it because it does nothing.

I have CSR, so free lounge access through priority pass anyways.

Do you often fly on Tango or transborder Flex fares with checked luggage? If so, 25K can be worth it just for priority check-in and free bags.

If not, I wouldn't bother spend any money to get 25K.

I fly Tango only.

I also have a $300 flight credit (any airline or hotel) to be used this year, but if I don't try to hit E25K I might just travel home (short haul) instead

Hmm

Doesn't seems to be worth it imo

Why not use that flight credit to book a four segment itinerary?

If you're always Tango, the checked bag fee waiver could be quite useful.

For P25K you get some free checked luggage, which may be helpful. And by any chance if you get IROPS, status definitely helps.

I can get status with a $250 mileage run to Las Vegas.

But just dunno if worth it. I'm based in NYC now so not sure how much I'd fly AC, and the silver status doesn't even grant free baggage with United.

I'd just go to Vegas for $250 regardless of a status run!

You don't even get the "E" for 25K. It's Prestige not Elite.
IME it was hard to use the few eUps because of the window, unless flying unpopular routes.

If you're based on NYC I'd give it a miss - Just aim for Silver on United in 2017.

You'll get a lot more perks than you would with AC.

As a P25k, I found priority check in and checked bags - 2x23kg useful.

For the most part P25 is pretty much useless. Totally agree that silver on UA brings far greater value.

I have a friend (he's about to hit E75K, but he spent a year or two as P25K) who felt the same way, though he was more interested in priority check-in than the extra bag.

Mind you, he also didn't have to do any extra work for it.

And that brings what value to a thread about someone with 21 AQS, thinking about whether they can do four more segments?

Of course, this all assumes that P25k will offer priority check in and free bags next year. If anything. They may offer one MLL voucher of scrap it all together right?

So I need about 19 miles to qualify for E35k, which based on likely flying next year is only worth it to me, if I get Z2 boarding and priority security at YYZ.
But there is no guarantee those will make it into 2017 either. At least at the 35k level.

The other question you have to ask, is what travel are you planning on doing Jan '17->Feb '18? Because as has been hinted at that makes a difference.

If you're going to fly J and nothing but J paid for by someone else there very little point in anything beyond top tier status imo because you get everything including in ticket price except (easy access to) concierge and maybe slightly closer to front of the line for meal selection.
