Man, you have no idea how jealous I am for those that can sleep full 15 hours...

EVA does release random seats here and there, Y or J
e.g. I found 1Y for Summer 2017 TPE-YYZ but not even 2Y or 1J
Also - check all possible routes like LAX/SFO/SEA/YVR + JFK/IAH/ORD

Yes, N.A. - Asia 1 is 75K for 1 Economy round-trip, 150K Business R/T

However, you can also book K on EVA, which is eligible. I believe (though I'm entering unfamiliar territory) that this is premium economy, and is not too expensive. So then even if you can't upgrade, you have a decent seat.
False. Just upgraded using AP from a B fare with almost 4 weeks to go before departure.

Would it make you happy if I said "space is going to be very sparse until T-14, then wide open" ?

Question regarding AP points for upgrade on a Latitude Pass flight - if the flight shows availability for eUp, but I don't have enough credits left, shouldn't I be able to use AP points to do the job?? Or is it pulling from a different source?

Flights are Jan 2nd LHR-YOW (not enough credits, failing on AP) and YOW-YVR (successfully used my eUp, leaving me with an orphaned 3 credits).

Then again if I select my 2017 options soon enough (sometime in December), might I end up with the extra eUps in time? In that case I could just rebook for the direct if still available!

SAUA requires I space.
eUpgrade (on Latitude) requires P/Z space.
