Help booking Asia trip as mix of paid/award fares

hi all,

I'm looking for some help booking a 3 week trip to Thailand/Cambodia, as well as Taiwan and South Korea from Dec 17 to Jan 8/9. I'd like to do it mostly in J (or PY) as a mix of revenue / award fares. I'll probably do paid AC fares to/from Asia (likely ICN) as I want to maximize AQM/AQD for 2016, and some awards within Asia, but need some advice as to how to best split that up.

Here are the dates I am looking at:

* Sat Dec 17 - YVR to REP (Siem Reap)
* Fri Dec 23 - REP to CNX (Chiang Mai)
* Thu Dec 29 - CNX to BKK
* Sat Dec 31 - BKK to TPE
* Wed Jan 4 - TPE to ICN (specifically BR160)
* Sat/Sun Jan 8/9 - ICN to YVR

I think smaller regional carriers are going to be the only way to/from REP, so may need to overnight in BKK or somewhere close on the way down. I'm OK with getting a few smaller local flights there.

My first thought was to do round trip to ICN (paid) and then ICN-BKK-TPE-ICN as a single RT with stopover. The CNX and REP flights would be on local carriers.

If I search for YVR->ICN (PY), TPE->ICN (J) and ICN->YVR (PY) the fare comes out to $2800 on ITA, the rest would need to be on points.

Dates/order is somewhat flexible if there is a better way to do this.

Thanks in advance for the tips

One tip is that rather than fly TPE-ICN, you should fly TSA-GMP.
You will save at least an hour at both ends of the trip.

Since when has the AC forum become an ersatz travel agency?

Good tip, I noted that it is not available daily though.

Threats should be taken very seriously. I think its fun helping out other FT'ers, not everyone is as astute as some of us with travel planning.
