I think that deadheading can include travel home AFTER your duty work as well as travel TO your duty work. That is certainly included in the definition of "deadhead" in the (bus) transit industry.

Okay I just received a confirmation.
Deadheading FAs do not have priority over eUpgrades, so the letter was, at best, poorly worded, and there were shenanigans with my flight. Although I guess the FA still had "priority", albeit not an official policy. |
A confirmation from whom?

Basically the order I thought it was (and listed upthread) is accurate. |
Honestly , I find these threads not very useful because we have zero chance of knowing the exact facts of why an employee may be seated in J.
Chalk it up next move on. ( is what I tell myself anyway) |

Chalk it up next move on. ( is what I tell myself anyway) Which is why this was very interesting to me. It was a huge change. Except the letter was wrong, so this thread's original point is somewhat useless. However, it's still interesting, because flight attendants never have priority over eUpgrades, and yet, a FA got J over an eUpgrade. |

Someone must have done a good job at showing his/her boss how good he/she was at cutting costs and improving the bottom line. |

Gotta pick the right Rapidair flight;) Neat yo. :p |

So to summarize the individual who wrote you the letter posted incorrect information and so this thread was really a waste of time?

I suspect it turned out to be a worth while post.

Isn't the underlying issue here, the lack of transparency on the part of AC? The "rules" re upgrading are not clear. Several posters thought they knew the rules but now it seems they may have been changed.
Paying passengers may not like or agree with the rules but that's a separate issue. |
