Help me get E35K

Okay guys (and gals)...

I'm currently at 13 segments. I want to get at least E35K if not E50K.

What kind of routings can I take to maximize this for lowest cost? I don't mind sleeping at airports and going to middle of nowhere. I'm based in YYZ, Canadian citizen and have Nexus. If cost-effective, I'd like to throw in a HKG destination in there too.

I'm at:
AQM: 5,748
AC AQM: 2,988

AQS: 13
AC AQS: 9

Should I try to mileage run to E50K or segment run?

It'd be super great if people could PM their best suggestions to OP instead of posting them here, so as to reduce the chances of AC deciding to shut them down.

As far as sheer volume of segments, without using any particular trickery, your best bet would be to wait for UA to post the inevitable $80 round trip LAX-SFO or EWR-ORD, and go knock out a bunch of hot laps.

This works too

As long as I get the info, I don't care if it's on forums, in a private message, or delivered to my house by pigeon (or by a mileage runner haha)

Messenger penguin is generally the method of choice round these parts... Alternatives include Nomad's mongoose and my Comfort Skunk.

There were some good $99 one-way SFO-EWR fares in recent memory that allowed some creative routings.

ORD-SFO
I'm seeing $231 one way on UA, non-stop being the cheapest

SFO-LAX
I'm seeing $87 one way, both directions. Also non-stop.

Prices listed in CDN, found on Google Flights. So cheapest out of provided routings is $87/segment or $4350 for E50K.

I saw one LGA-YUL-YYZ for $114 so $55/segment.

What kind of cost per segment should I be aiming for?

I'm not worried about AQD... that's the easy part :P

I did some YVR flying earlier this year... so my AQD is pretty high

Why don't you go for E50K?

E35K is lowest needed for early qualification.
E50K is preferred (Star Alliance benefit as well) but I gotta be realistic with my goals :P

If you just want to get to E35 or E50, and you already have the needed AQD, it would probably be easier to do some long-haul MRing and qualify on miles rather than segment running. Rock-bottom economy fares are available on AC metal to HKG/PVG/PEK/TYO/DXB/DEL all of which are good MR destinations if you want to stay a while at the destination and make a little holiday out of it rather than doing same-day turns @ 3cpm.

Anything over $75/segment is pretty poor value.
