I still have a tag from the MLL/En-route CC days on a piece of checked luggage.

No bags have more than one tag, since a second tag if it ever existed would have been scavenged for some other bag
Almost exactly what I was going to post. A tag is a tag. Not worried about the ego to show it's the latest model. But I do put the new one on the bag that isn't going to be checked. No charm-bracelet tag collections. Just serving as a name-tag. New, old, who cares? (PS but only the 50K, not the 35 or P25.)

I don't think he means the tag itself but the leather ring that held it to the bag. I probably still have some of these around.

No, the tag was 100% leather, not just the ring.

I never had any problems with the design. Way better than the current metal ring.

I like using my old E35K tags and when boarding say "I can't believe they upgraded me of all people"....

Haven't done it yet, but based on some reactions on FT I am tempted to!

I'm with the "whatever is on there" gang. I certainly don't have more than one tag on a bag at a time ... but it's quite likely that a bag will have a tag that is 2-3 years old ...

And when I do replace a tag, I prefer (and reuse) the leather straps; I use a hole punch to enlarge the hole, and I find the combination much more durable than the wire (which just seems to rip through the tag).

Must have been the first and second year of the SE program then. I have had SE status nonstop since around 2001 and I never got one of these.
