Offer extended! Upgrade sooner and for fewer credits

Good news, you can continue taking advantage of two great eUpgrade promotions well into the year. This makes it easier for you to indulge in extra comforts during your upcoming flights.

Enjoy an expanded booking window and request your upgrades sooner
You now have more time to request upgrades prior to your departure, offering you added flexibility when planning your trips. This offer applies to requests made between March 17 and September 5, 2016 for eligible Flex fares for travel within Canada, or between Canada and the U.S. or Sun destinations.

Upgrade for fewer credits
You can now request an upgrade to Business Class or Premium rouge using fewer eUpgrade Credits for travel within Canada or between Canada and the U.S. or Sun destinations when requesting your upgrade between March 17 and September 5, 2016.

This offer applies to all flights when travelling on Flex fares and above in eligible markets, as well as on Tango fares for Sun destinations, applicable for Elite 75K and Super Elite 100K members only.

Thanks AC.

I will forgo the speculation and analysis of the why and just note this is very nice to see.

It is very nice. It really increases the value of the flex flight passes.

Yes it certainly does. It is a very nice perk for Flex FP users.

I'm not sure if I understand this comment.
Are you worried there will be no more revenue J seats left for you to purchase starting at T-14?

I think this extension was almost a foregone conclusion when the 2016 program didn't include any reductions on eUpgrade requirements. Just a shame international locations are still at the exorbitant levels, but at least J cabins on those routes are generally more full.

As a Pesky25k with some flex flight passes and eupgrade credits that need to be rationed carefully, this is great news for me.

So is this an offer or the new normal. This offer was on for the first three months of the year and now for 6 additional months. So is it an offer if it is valid for 9/12 months a year. And FYI I do like it because I am currently using it as most of my fares are flex or hi-flex.

No. It just means more people will compete against me when I go to request an upgrade.

Not really. As an E75, you still get priority over E50, E35 and P25. If anything changes as a result of this promotion, it's that (1) your credits go further and (2) your upgrades may be confirmed earlier than usual.

How so? Won't the same number of people who are higher elite levels than you always be ahead of you regardless of whether it's 14 days or 7?
