This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the
original 2004 - 2014 thread and the 2015 edition
The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. More Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs should be posted elsewhere on FT.
While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply her as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

For all of you who seem to be pickle obsessed, may I suggest the following Christmas themed pickle flavoured candy canes:

Maybe someone wants to pick up a pack before the next DO?

1. You need to fix your link;
2. Is this the same as http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/27522781-post1361.html?

I was just redirected from a *G lounge to a J lounge.
It's clean, quiet, big, and has good food and mediocre drinks.
What would happen if AC split their lounges?

You are one of the very few here that I fully respect, along with many other former prominent posters. It would be of great pleasure to receive said advice, and not during a random happenstance sightings at NRT or YVR!

I had nothing to argue. I'm entitled to both, but I wanted the better one.
I handed over my BP, and asked "am I in the right place?"
"No, go to the lounge down the hall."
That being said, MLLs have better booze.

What booze was there? Hopefully you'd didn't dump Coke Zero into it.
Was there any Lithuainian food in the spread, by chance? Hmm?

Bacardi white. And as a matter of fact, I am drinking it with Coke Zero
There is nothing you'd be upset with me mixing.
I don't know what Lithuanian food is, so I can't answer that. I'm mostly eating spring rolls. Boarding starts in 45, so I can leave here soon and get them to make me a Singapore Sling or something fancy on the plane.

But their lounge sucks.
It's quite amusing.
SQ's TPR is probably my favorite lounge that I've been in. But their J lounge is among me least favorite.
NOW I WANT TO GET ON ANOTHER PLANE!!!!
I'm a little sad I cut AC out of this trip. Not really sad, I mean, MUC-LHR-YVR-SFO in J is strictly worse than MUC-LAX in F and LAX-SFO in J. But a little sad.
That AC plane I saw upon landing in SIN brought up all my emotions about home. I should move back to Canada. Maybe AC will hire me to fix their problems.

I know I'm way behind the times, but I just went to my first full 3D movie last night. Loved the movie (Fantastic Beasts) but hated the 3D effects. They were just a distracting, blurry mess. Often when there was something jumping out of the screen, the background would blur into fuzz. Also, the fast action sequences were impossible to follow. What is the point of 4K ultraAVX projectors if things are out of focus? It reminds me of early smartphone cameras. 5 megapixels! Wow! Oh, it 5 megapixels of blur.
I can't believe 3D movies are so prominent when it takes so much away from the movie experience.
I'd always avoided the 3D option, but last night I went for UltraAVX 3D to get reserved seating. Time was a bit tight and I didn't want to be stuck down in the front row. Never again.
At least IFE screens will never go 3D.

We choose non-3D VIP whenever possible, but that's the same logic that has me paying for PE and Preferred Seats.
