Help with Rewards Booking: Anywhere in J for September

Hello AC Forum!

Feeling a bit drained, I'm trying to book a last minute vacation for 7-10 days in mid-September (can depart as early as Sep 7 and return as late as Sep 20). I'm based on SFO and pretty open on destination, as long as it's outside of North America.

I can't seem to find any availability in Business on Aeroplan.com. Am I simply too late? Or am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated!

When you say "anywhere", do you literally mean anywhere (on Earth, that is)?

Also, as a 50k are you willing to use your priority reservation at double the cost?

Pretty much...

I was originally hoping to go hiking in the Swiss Alps. But then I thought about Argentina or Japan. So now, in the spirit of spontaneity, I'm throwing it completely open.

This trip is very unusual for me. I normally travel with a friend and plan well in advance. This will be a solo trip and a chance to clear my head. Hope that gives you an idea of what I'm looking for.

Yes, though obviously not preferred.

Thanks for the suggestion, but given how much time I've spent in Toronto, I don't view going there as a getaway.

I see availability departing Sept 10 returning 21 to NRT/HND, just not from SFO, you will have to connect in LAX, DEN or YYC. But the TPAC leg is available in business on UA or AC.

I am willing to play with this as I need a bit of vicarious adventure - working 6 days a week for almost 3 months is just plain stupid.

What caveats do you have - are open jaws acceptable? Any no go locations outside of YYZ? Does YQ limit your preferences? (or whatever the #### they call it now) Do you have more than a US passport (affects visas)? And do you have any other spare points (ie Avios etc) for connecting legs if it gets you somewhere more interesting?

Location: Outside North America. In order of preference: Europe, South America, Asia / Africa.

Passport: Canadian. Would prefer a location that doesn't require a visa, but not a deal breaker.

Spare Points in Other Programs: AA and Amex, but not a lot in either.

YQ: Prefer to avoid, but willing to consider if everything else is attractive.

Thanks in advance!

SFO - SJO

I know Costa Rica is technically in North America - but still one of my favourite places to visit. Spend some time in Arenal by the volcanoes / hot springs / spas, head up the mountains into the cloud forests or enjoy the beach by the Pacific Ocean (or all of the above).

LOL seeing as I'm still in the pub, if you're looking for a quick booking, I too vote for SIN - if you don't think that'll interesting you that long, there are lots of places to fly from there!
