YYZ > HKG upgrade
Hi,
Booking a flight to HKG on Oct 20, return Oct 29. I understand this route is very difficult for upgrade especially for an E25 like myself. However, still wonder what is the chance to buy a Latitude fare for the aerolotto draw? Even Upgrade can be requested right the way but am I pretty much get the same chance as buying a lower class fare?
Thanks
Ron

Hello
Firstly, (saying this nicely), there's no such thing as a E25K. It's P25K
You'd also have to buy a HI-Flex fare (M/U) to upgrade, pay $750 for the copay IIRC. Yes, you can buy a Latitude ticket, and there's no copay. That would require 24 eups, and no copay.
I'm not sure if you have 24 eups or not...but by default you only have 20. So unless you've somehow gotten more (many ways), than it's not possible.
Also, you can check by going online, and doing a booking. check the box on the upper right that says something about upgrades, select the P25K tier and then you'll see if you can clear. If you buy a Latitude ticket, if at time of booking, you can upgrade, then it's instantly confirmed.

Thanks for the quick reply! LOL on the "E25"!
Actually, it required 12+1 e-upgrade for one way from YOW, I requested the upgrade but was put on waiting list. Now I just wonder if it is a wise choice
I have 24 hours to cancel and rebook...
Thanks

If you bought a latitude fare, then it should be 100% refundable. I think up until 1 hr before the flight.

Dorian's advice is your best bet, considering you being a (like penguin, I'm saying this "nicely") lowly P25K, you would have to compete with almost every other status level on the waitlist. Go with the LMU - but being offered a LMU is not guaranteed.
