Difference in Boarding Passes?
Why is that I sometimes get a yellow boarding pass, sometimes white, and even both (yellow to start, then, if I upgrade at the gate, they give me a white one again?
Are there several different coloured passes out there? Is one for*P, *E & *SE?
I did a search here, but couldn't find the answer.

AC has advised airport employees that the yellow BP's have been discontinued and will disappear as the remaining stock is used. Apparently they were introduced in the kiosks as a heads up to gate agents to double check it for correct info, a coupon, etc.
I guess the error rate has declined to the point where the system is no longer needed (or the error rate is so consistently high across all BP's accepted that they decided to forgo the add'l cost?)

The yellow boarding passes came out of the kiosks. The purple/pink ones went to elites at counter checkins. Recently at the YYZ T2 domestic SE/Elite/STARGold check-in, I have received white cards with a pale blue "watermarked" logo, most attractive of the bunch.
The yellow kiosk ones were designed to alert gate agents to check for ticket coupons, upgrade certificates and other items which check-in agents might otherwise insert into the pocket for pulling upon boarding.
UA was one of the pioneers issuing these types of colour coded boarding passes, reserving Gold ones for their elites and F and C customers.

I got one of those too last week when checking in at that counter. I asked the agent and she said it was a new BP stock for STAR Gold passengers only. </font>

Until this old stock is gone you may see some inconsistancy but normally
- Yellow comes out of Kiosks with clear markings of EXPRESS on the sides,
- Bleu is for Executive Class Ckin and
- White is everywhere else inluding all gate/ckin counters.
