Nonrefundable Refund

Awhile back I posted something about getting the taxes and fees from a nonrefundable ticket refunded. Anyway, I wrote to Air Canada, and they are giving me back the tax on my ticket, about $20 USD. It never hurts to try. So all is lost when one buys a nonrefundable ticket.

I don't know if you came this bit of information from:
http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/tax/indiv...atsc/qa-e.html
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">
Q10: Will the ATSC be refunded if I cancel my airline ticket?
A10: If you did not use any portion of the airline ticket a credit may be issued by the air carrier or an application for a refund can be made with CCRA.
</font>
for more information:
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">
Q21: Who can I contact to receive additional information on the ATSC?
A21: General enquiries regarding the ATSC can be directed to the Excise and Other Levies Unit of the Summerside Tax Centre. Individuals in Canada and the United States may call this unit toll-free at (877) 432-5472. Individuals outside these countries may dial (902) 432-5472.
