Star Alliance upgrades on Air Canada
Could not find info in the upgrade main thread so wanted to throw it out to the forum:
Looking at possibly buying Y or B fare on Air Canada and using United miles for a star alliance upgrade on the outbound journey only (which is connecting)
Has anyone succeeded in doing something similar and will the upgrade clear if there are business class seats available on the day or will it only clear if seats are available in award inventory - don't want to be stuck with a needlessly expensive coach fare if chances unlikely
Any input gratefully received
