Flight Disruption Promotion Code
Did a quick search with "Flight Disruption Promotion Code" and didn't come back with anything, so, I am starting a new thread. If there is another thread, please let me know and I will ask the Mod to merge. If this is the only thread, maybe we can make this the official Q&A thread for this.

Just got off a delay flight. During boarding process I was hand a card/form (approx 3.5" x 8.5") that ask me to go to aircanada.com/flight/promocode to retrieve my promo code toward future flight within the next 13 months.
Under the bullet points listed, one of them state:
Just want to make sure I do read it correctly that the later I retrieve code, the later the code will expire.

Yes, that is correct. But the later you redeem the code the better chance you might forget, or forget to do it in time, or loose it, etc..

Search for EU261 and promo code didn't yield anything... AC833 is cancelled today. I'm hesitant to hit the link in the email (to claim an offer code) for the fear that it might automatically imply consent to the offered compensation. If it's 15% or more I may be able to get more than EUR300 out of it, but will be hard pressed... However, if I can get the 300 + 5%, wouldn't mind taking the offer too...
If we accept the code, does that void the right to claim the compensation stipulated in article 7? Any experience?
