Thought I would share a few things I learned today. Maybe not news to everyone, but it was to me.

I'll hit SE for next year, but only barely so I called in to double check actual miles that would be credited for my last few flights. During the call I asked about threshold gifts.

When I hit 60K I selected my 5000 AP miles, but also saw that when you hit 90K you get the option of 15,000 miles, however I was told that you only get 3 selections and I would not get that 15,000 miles. I only ever selected 1 threshold gift that I recall. Can anyone confirm this, or did the AP agent not know what they were talking about?

Thanks to FT I also learned that the 5K lower requalification limit only applies to getting 50K, not 100K so I had to plan my legs last minute in a way that gets me the extra miles to hit SE. Don't recall seeing that rules listed anywhere obvious. Thanks FT for saving my ... on that one!

On another note, I was told the sweeps are happening on Dec 4, Dec 14 and Jan 5. I've never really paid too much attention, so I don't know if it's the same every year, but thought I would pass it along. Jan 11, the emails start going out on the last sweep.

The AP agent got confused with your privileges and threshold gift. You will be able to choose the 15k miles (or another threshold gift if still available) when passing 90K AQM.

The 3 selections refers to the privilege bundles, with which you are obviously familiar. Note that when you select initially, you are choosing for this year and will get another round of selections early 2015. You may want to pick something other than 1500 AQM (the equivalent of lower requalification) for now and select lower requalification next year, if you wish to keep that option.
