With the changes to the 2015 Altitude program, they are probably trying to launch a few things to enhance what little is left of the program...

What a colossal waste of time and money. Must be some C-level suits pet project, only way I can see how this happens.

Same here - tried with Chrome and IE, and the site returned the same error message. Bailed.

What amazes me is that they must have access to google yet this still happens. And by that I mean try googling the answer to a given problem or frustration or situation that you are having with AC. And the top dozen results are invariably from FT. Which means that anybody who doesn't already know FT will end up here for an answer, or lurking, or eventually participating.

What they won't do is go to some puff piece forum that has no freedom to really discuss anything, silly little badges, and is designed for only one reason (data mining their customers).

Who, in a million years, thought this was cost justifiable? If anything, this is even more colossally stupid than the changes to Altitude for 2015, and I think my opinion on that is pretty clear.

Love the person who is sucking up with AC - listing the "Best Frequent Flyer Programs" in Toronto, with AC at the top of the list.

Nah, I didn't forget IBM. I just liked the way it sounded when it popped into my head "beta, broken and AC - all on one page of a new thread"

To paraphrase (loosely) what many of you have said:

Fix the things that need fixing, stop playing around with reinventing the wheel.

You can start here, for eg.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...seem-like.html

and then maybe here

Flag the post. Note in the comments that its 'fraudulent'.

Looks like all the current members are AC. Arjun Basu is involved with EnRoute.

LOL. It's going to be a place where they are going to play with themselves!

Why would anyone think that customers would want to be part of a social community of an airline that seems to be at war with its' customers?

I appreciate the effort of Ben Lipsey to make a return here and at least take a shot at engaging with real customers.

This kind of thing just makes me laugh, and also, just, well in shock at how idiotic it is.

And Ben Lipsey et al know who I am.

I guess might as well do the Early Adopter badge to get 1000 points, but I think that's all I'm going to contribute.

I think when you create a list that is "in the world" type, that the system doesn't let you publish. BROKE IT!

From from from...

"From what Air Canada Altitude tier group would you like to get recommendations from?"

I'd like to suggest they need one more "from" in that sentence just to make a lucky trio!

It also fails with a "Please enter your username" message even after a user name is entered.

I don't have high hopes, but I will go on a few times, give it a try, since they'll give me 1000 points to do so.

There could be useful stuff in there, eventually.

Didn't open the email and forgot about it until landing on this thread. Not going to bother with it. FT is the place to be for me
