YVR-SIN best *A option for Y?

I am planning a trip from YVR-SIN early next year, I am 50/50 on switching away from AC, and this may change the decision.

Is there actually ANY decent Y-class cabin from YVR-SIN under *A? I would absolutely NOT fly the 777HD, as one HKG flight almost killed me! So, looking for alternatives, either through US, NRT, HKG, or else... Would LOVE a 777 cabin with 3-3-3, but not sure if there's any on this route

The other option, and probably the best is CX, which if I wanna switch away from AC, would be a no brainer...

Thanks!

Also, I don't mind using Aeroplan miles to upgrade, so which airline may give me the best chance to use miles and upgrade?

What about YVR-HND-SIN on ANA?

Or YVR-NRT on AC 787 and NRT-SIN on SQ A380.

A few decent options out there if you're looking to avoid AC007. If you are willing to fly JL, they have a 2-4-2 787 which would be the most comfortable Y seat ex-YVR to anywhere.

Why don't you fly SQ connecting out of LAX via NRT on the A380?

(It would mean flying Rouge to LAX).

So, 2 connections? I guess that's a good option. What sort of miles do I get on SQ? I remember it's somehow restricted fare classes.

Thanks, how the seat config on AC 787 vs. 777? They're still not as comfy as 777 (non-HD), right?

They are much closer to the 777HD than non-HD 777s. But honestly aside from the width (which wasn't a problem for me, being on the slim side) I liked them.

The worst part about the 777HD Y seats is the footsie with your neighbor if seated in the -4- section since the seat supports go between your legs. At least that isn't the case on the 787.

You can also go via HKG and PVG

Basically anywhere you can connect to SQ...

If you want to be a little crazy but get decent miles, go YVR-SYD-SIN

because...why not!

Not HKG with AC, due to horrible 777P plane, NEVER AGAIN!

Now, THAT would be amazing... I could do a Sydney trip in-between...hmm, very intriguing. I just am not sure if I could book it that way via corp travel agency...

EVA is fine in the back, 9 across on the 77W, they also have a premium economy product(separate cabin) that is often for sale at check-in if you haven't purchased. TPE is always under construction, and the EVA lounges are kind of "different" in their decor !

YVR-TPE is handled by a 747, which means 3-4-3 but wider than a 777 HD
