I avoid egg so the fish with fried rice is unfortunately out (it sounds great otherwise). Based on your comment on the chicken I'll probably roll the dice with the beef and hope it's edible. Worst case I have mashed potatoes and asparagus that are hard to ruin. CX F gave me a melt-in-your-mouth ribeye last year, in contrast to a few rubber puck tasting steaks I've had on JL and AC, so hoping for the best but going in with low expectations.

There is always "No Menu Available" for AC 17. It was posted here a long time ago that AC 17 and 7 share a menu and you can see it here

BTW, if eggs are an issue, or allergen, they are ingredients in many things. Also, the rice and fish and sauce all come in their own containers and are heated that way and then plated. If you don't want the rice, just let the galley FA know well before food service starts, that you don't want it and the rest is fine. I do that with all the sausages that keep appearing on my plates when I don't get my SPML or Healthy Breakfast option.

Just got off AC 17. Menu is indeed AC 7 menu. Fish was most popular option but I rolled the dice on beef. Potatoes good, sauce good, asparagus overcooked, and beef surprisingly not overcooked (well done as expected but not dry or hockey puck). Fairly consistent and I had no issues as I was already full by the time this course rolled out.

FA warned me the wonton soup on snack menu would be bad. I tried anyway. It was really bad. Had a few good chats with FAs about other carriers and J offerings - no real complaint about service delivery.

Lots of photos to upload when I have time but very similar to previous post. The duck appetizer was EXCELLENT however, but it was also my first time eating duck so I'm not a good judge

Do you happen to know the brand? Did they serve it in a bowl or directly out of the original packaging (dorm style)? (Because it's often served both ways)

When doing HND/NRT TPACs, I often enjoyed the wonton soup ex-Canada, but not on the return (yes, I half expected the ex-Japan noodles to be better). Ex-Canada it was (instant) egg noodles, but on the return, it was always instant-non-egg-noodles. This has been mentioned somewhere upthread in the past few years as well.

I didn't actually eat the dinner on this flight - I was too stuffed after spending 3 hours in the Signature Suite. Pancakes, which were my breakfast choice, weren't loaded in YYZ and were not available.

I seem to have a recurring knack for picking missing menu items.

Exact same dinner menu as my AC 872 to FRA in post 2237. Has AC run out of options they can rotate on all but the "diverse" routes? :p

That's kinda why I'm bothering to post these now. I keep thinking I'm seeing repeats but after awhile it kind of all blurs together.

Thanks for your sharp eyes spotting the duplicate. I'll be flying back with the same crew on Friday and am curious to see what catering ex-SCL looks like.

Looks like the option to look up menus on AC flights has been removed. Or I can't find it - but it definitely isn't where I used to be able to find it.

I guess that's easier than just having most of the flights say "No menu available"...

Yup, it's gone.

Flew TPE-YVR the other day and had the BBQ Pork, air-dried sausage with oyster sauce and Chinese greens with steamed rice on the bottom.

Sounds simple, but I wanted cultural comfort food and it fit the bill. I like my BBQ pork burnt at the sides (it wasn't), and the meat wasn't too fatty, so good job to the catering company. China Pacific, I believe is the one AC uses at TPE.

Yes, China Pacific. I was looking at the catering truck from the gate before my most recent AC 18.
The logo on the side of the truck: China Pacific, and next to it, the Swire logo.
Sounds familiar.....Cathay Pacific.....a Swire company.

Thing is, the food was really good and the bubbles were perfectly chilled. In that TPE heat. It can be done. Just not on this side of the pond. Yes, FWP. :D

I was downstairs by the gate and couldn't make it out due to the typical overcast afternoon. I thought it was some cheap lowest common denominator caterer that won AC's tender. :p

Dang, 34 feeling like 50. I had my share of bubble tea and mango shaved ice mountain snowflake daily.

@24left, not sure if you had it before, but you must try the railway boxed food you can buy on the THSR cars ($100 NTD) or at Taipei Station ($80-$100).

The braised pork chop is just awesome, with the boiled egg, greens, a slab of bean curd, and in some cases, a slice of fish paste.

It used to be at the bottom of this page https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...e-service.html, in the "Food & Beverage Service" section. But the "search for your flight" option seems to be gone (at least at the moment).

Saldy, all of the hot dishes were grossly overcooked due the hour delay between pushback, a truly unique de-ice experience and taxiing to the runway.

Nice trio of ice creams!

The poor sablefish tasted as bad as it looks. But this was my first experience of J catering ex-SCL, so thought I would share.
