eUpgrading with non AC segment

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything specific in the forums, nor on the AC site.

I am looking at an itinerary from LHR to SLC. As I'm 50K and the firm pays latitude, I am trying to stick to AC and use some e-ups.

However, when I input this itinerary on the AC site, the route comes up as LHR - YYZ - DEN - SLC. When I then say show fares for upgrade, it exits to the main screen saying "There are no remaining fares eligible for upgrade on your selected date(s). Please try an alternate date. (66012 - 10651)".

This has me confused. Does this mean I can't upgrade the AC segments from LHR - YYZ and YYZ - DEN? Everything I've read suggests I should be able to.

Thanks!

Yes, if there's R availability, you can definitely upgrade all AC operated flights.

or if it's a latitude fare I think with the recent change P availability works too.

Ah yes, of course.

I have encoutered the same issue.

Just check for a ticket LHR-DEN. You'll see what's available. Then if it is, if you go to your account you should be able to book.

If not, phone AC reservations.

I am unaware of this change. Where can I read more about it?

I know Ben made a post about it somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it right now. Basically it said:

If you have a Y, B or O (PE Flexable) fare your ability to upgrade is based on there being a "P" fare available, OR if it's in North America or the Caribbean then it's based on there being a "Z" fare available.

It's fare to say (haha get the pun) that they are rewarding people who buy latitude or PE Flexible fares, as they should be, making it a lot easier for them to confirm an upgrade in advance.
