A "disturbance" in the YVR dom MLL
At around 11 on Saturday evening, a highly opinionated woman approached several passengers in the MLL, eager to share her thoughts, loudly, on a variety of topics. (To boil it down, the Occupy people could have written her script.) Most of her victims walked off in order to get away from her. And then she would just find someone else to harass.
I thought that I would be next on her hit list, so I had a plan, but before I had a chance to use it the AC manager arrived with two RCMP members. They asked to see her ticket, cut off her Bailey's intake, and asked a couple of people near her to move to different chairs.
One constable told her that she was at risk of being charged with creating a disturbance. She rattled on about freedom of speech, and denied having bothered anybody.
In the end, she was removed from the lounge and removed from the flight, which if I heard correctly was the red-eye to Montreal.
The best part was that the guy she was flying with, a guy named James, had his head down in front of a computer screen while all of this was unfolding. When she was being led away, she asked James if he was coming. "Sooner or later," he said, and that turned out to be about five minutes. Not sure if he lost his seat as well. For his sake, I hope that he could carry on as planned, to get away from her if for no other reason.
In the end, I think the lounge management and the police acted appropriately. And I can't imagine how bad the Montreal flight would have been if that idiot had been allowed to board.

Kudos to the lounge staff for taking care of the situation!^
I would usually expect that an annoying lounge guest would be asked to leave without the police getting involved, but if she was that obnoxious and possibly intoxicated it may have been the best approach.

I thought it was more about the economic inequality between the 1% and the rest of us. Just seems like the MLL would be an odd place for such a person to be in if their views are that strong. But then again a lot of the Anarchy movement is made up of trust fund kids who can afford to fly around stirring it up.

Wrong on both counts. It was actually about a bunch of deadbeats who are too lazy to work to support themselves and conjured up the bizarre notion that you and I should do it for them.

My daughter was in the MLL at that time and told me the lady was talking about 9/11 and explosives and such.
She was reported to the Lounge staff, who apparently called the police...
Strange...

So many people in need of stronger medication...
Not wanting to sound sexist or anything, but why is that lately it seems it is always women who seem to go off their rocker? Just look at most of the videos about unruly pax on aircraft lately.
And why do they mostly fly US?

It's a semi-public place with booze, incidents like this are bound to happen... As long as the incident was handled calmly, efficiently and professionally, nothing to see here. Of course, as others have alluded to, there are many potential reasons for this behaviour: alcohol, psychological illness, or just no-excuse bad behaviour... Ultimately, none of us know so can't really judge.

When one considers St. Paul, New Brunswick, and others, I don't think it is really accurate to say that it is only women. In fact, I would say that, when the guys break, the consequences appear to be worse.
