Well, just booked another non-AC routing. Hope AC fills the 9+ empty seats with suckers who are willing to pay the higher fare. I'm guessing they won't.

Actually, the Full Y Fare on that route is more than $6000:

...On an even more tangential note, how do TAs even work? Commission from the airline or from the customer? Are they able to modify point of sale (e.g. to US for an ex-US itinerary)? I've only ever used AMEX PTS/travel, although I'd love to find a more knowledgeable TA who doesn't charge excessive amounts (and would be willing to book a fare I found directly off matrix instead of trying to convince me that you can't book a ticket to ZFV...)

That's why I think the US Commuter pass is a great value for those situations, especially if you need to travel there often on short notice.
YUL-BOS same-day turn this Thursday is 2406$ R/T (2148$ via YYZ) in Flex. For a little under 4000$ you can buy the Flex version of this pass and get 5 roundtrips out of it, at just under 800$ R/T.

Interesting that the flights were scheduled on a double-daily CRJ until this past fall, when they were downgauged to the DH1. While this has happened in past winters, the DH1 appears to be with us all summer as well.

Not surprised at all. Ben Smith (Executive VP) said that US corporate travellers based in Boston are not price sensitive. He sent a special marketer to sell them on the advantage of using Canada as a hub for TATL/TPAC. Seems his plan is working
