Avoiding Scamcharges

I do have status (E50K / *A Gold) but not the status that matters to avoid scamcharges for international rewards. My understanding is that is reserved for SEs only. I do like the no scamcharges now on NA reward itineraries....that's an enhancement I can actually consider to be positive.
