Difficulty adding FF #s through website

Apologies if I missed a master thread for website issues, but search didn't turn one up in the first few pages of results...

Myself and a companion are returning from Toronto to the US on AC, YYZ-DCA, next month, and I stupidly forgot to add our FF #s (I'm US Airways, she's United) at time of booking. Fortunately, the reservation-management page offers an option to add those, but unfortunately every time I attempt to do so I just get an unending "we are processing your request" -- just for fun I actually left it spinning while eating dinner, and came back to find it still hadn't completed. Checking the reservation after closing the browser tab shows no update to the information.

I've tried this in multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari), and tried updating for both of us as well as just one at a time, all to no avail.

Is this a common/known issue? Something to just try again later? Or should I attempt this via some other means (phone?) rather than website?

Same here. I tried last week a few times, i am trying again right now. Will let you know.

eta: last week I tried with their aeroplan numbers and it didn't take. I just tried again now with their Lufthansa numbers and it went through. I am on Safari on a MacBook, last week i tried through Firefox on a windows machine. Not sure what the glitch is there, but i would keep trying. Maybe attempt to use another FF card (Lufthansa, etc) or computer?

Is it because of pending US air / AA merger ? They may have pulled the plug on them at AC early

US is still a *A partner at time of flight, and the site still lets me select US Dividend Miles as a program to enter a number for. Doesn't display any sort of error about invalid number/program, either -- just never gets past "We are processing your request."

Also, companion is United, and trying to enter United # for her and no # for me produces same result, so it's not something to do with US.

AC's IT is infamously flaky, and that "we are processing your request" can happen
at many points - in booking, in making payment, in requesting upgrades, etc.

Sometimes it has gone through, sometimes not.

Best just to call in and have an agent add it to your files.

It can also be added when you check in online. The agent at the airport should be able to add it as well.

You can call into AC reservations and they will add your number to the file. Should show up online farely quickly.

Had been trying on a Mac. Tonight I had access to a Windows laptop, tried it there, and it went straight through (in Firefox). Strangest thing I've ever seen. But thanks for the suggestion, since that's what ended up working.
