add a segment?
I have a half-used round trip, i.e., itinerary from AAA to BBB to CCC, and having completed AAA to BBB, I am in BBB. How I ended up with this is a long story.
Anyway, after using BBB to CCC, I need to get from CCC to BBB. The one way fares book into Y at a price that is breathtakingly prohibitive, but there are S fares available, just not as one-ways. My existing fare is V or something.
One solution is to "lose" my BBB-CCC ticket and just book BBB-CCC-BBB round trip in a lower fare bucket.
Before I come up with that kind of strategy, can anyone tell me whether it is possible to add an S-class segment onto an existing PNR like this?
Thanks!

Don't do that.
Presumably this is outside North America, right, since in NA round trip=2 one way?
Simply buy the round trip CCC-BBB-CCC. Throw away the return. If as I suspect this is a codeshare, even better to buy it with the operating airline.
In case they would later charge your CC for the difference (which in some European countries such as the UK they might try) contest the unauthorized charge.

hahaha
I just had a brainwave from reading the FP thread, checked the FP to the region: 6 credits in V, good for 12 months, still less $ than one segment in Y, plus eUps for FP activity. That would get my one way, plus two round trips, and the 6th segment would just expire with no rule-breaking required. (and yes, a MR opportunity!)
