eUp Nomination Question
Good Evening Folks,
I will be flying YEG-LHR on July 4th with my boss. I will be E50 as soon as my YEG-YYZ miles post from yesterday. She (the boss) is only E35 and we are not on an M fare, so E35 cannot eUp.
We are on the same PNR and as much as I would like to not burn my credits, I do not think it would be appropiate for me to eUp and leave her in Y. So I will be nominating her (as a surprise).
What I do NOT want to happen is only one of us is offered the eUp. Assuming R=0 at T-5 and this goes to the gate if there is only space for one of us, will the ask before eUping me? Can I decline the eUp at the gate if this is the case?
She did ditch me two years ago when I had no status, but somehow doesnt seem as OK if it were the reverse...

If you two are on the same PNR, you shouldn't have to nominate her. She can be considered your eUp travel companion.
You can try and tell the GA of your predicament. Whether s/he cares is another story. Technically, they should ask you if only one wants to take the eUp since you are on the same PNR.
Of course, should you be the one to get the eUp and not your boss, the proper thing to do would be to give it to your boss (I smell a bonus/promotion!).

Reminds me of one time when I was flying to my board exams... I was in J (upgraded thanks to cheap Lat flight passes at the time) and the chairman of my department got on the plane, saw me and headed to Y. He did smile at me but it was very awkward...
