Does no one want to go to HKG today?

AC 007 is still showing R9 with about 30 (real) open seats and 015 has 26 open. Quietest I've seen this route for a long time

Well, I am going to PEK tomorrow on an award ticket, but flying UA and LX to avoid scam charges! (Only $152 of taxes for that ticket. ^)

I guess AC's new strategy of discouraging anything but Tango fares and paid J is working.

I was supposed to be on 007 today, but the YVR flight went mechanical. So once again I was saved by a Concierge and moved to 015. He was saying that the back is full, but J is not at all crowded, so you might be right.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9780; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.448 Mobile Safari/534.8+)

I don't want to go anywhere - today, tomorrow or ever. I'm surprised at how much I enjoy going to work with no chance I'll be heading to the airport on a few hours notice.

So no, I don't want to go to HKG.

Buy me a ticket, and I'll go to Hong Kong.

Interesting. I did a search for deaprtures 27 May +/- 3 days. Most days, AC007 (YVRHKG) is R9. AC015 (YYZHKG) is R0 but most days it's J9; worst I was was J4 on 25 May.

Sames dates YYZFRA is showing decent availability in both J and R.

AC's focus on leisure travellers seems to be working.

Follow-up: even YVRSYD is J9 for the period 25 May to 30 May. (24 May is J8.)

With flex being within a few hundred of CX PE, I don't feel like gambling.

I'm not sure if I would fly YVR-AMS-HKG on KL (mileage on Skypesos/Flying Poo, plus this is a very long flight, and I have no ST status.)
I'm not even sure that KL can make a profit for the sub $1100 that CX wants.

This is true pending K availability (and you can route this on NH, too, for better service.)

I've got YYZ-PEK-PVG-YYZ in J coming up in a few weeks. $677 in taxes and scamcharges. Ouch! PEK-PVG on Air China.

Just looked at the loads for the rest of May for both YVR and YYZ to/from HKG.

YVR - HKG appears relatively light compared to other times of the year, whilst the return HKG - YVR is full/oversold (overall Y and J) till the end of May. There was even a day where the airplane was oversold by 22 seats... it just amazes me they can do that, and yet still plan to oversell the following day's flight.

YYZ - HKG looks full for the next few days, then drops off a little. Ex HKG looks full till the end of the month.

Dare to dream that the R games are reaching the finish line??
