Eupgrade madness rant

So I was just looking at booking a trip to beautiful moncton on Tuesday from YYJ.

Flex fare is about $750 one way. and 10 Eupgrades to upgrade. I've redeemed them a lot at that rate. For a quick reference I decided to see how many are required on an international flight. Typed in YYJ-LHR. 8 Eupgrades required? must be a "higher flex fare." Still seems a little ridiculous that it's 8 Eupgrades to Europe but 10 for a single leg YVR-YYZ or YYJ-YYZ. And that was on the lowest fare.

I even did a dummy booking a month or two out and it was the same fare with the same number of credits required.

Ya. obviously it was an M fare to LHR. Evidently that's all they sell via the website for the next month or two. Was only double the cost of going to Moncton.

So now I will opt for an exit row, and fly Y for the first time in many legs. I will have to take my girlfriend on a trip to London later in the year.
