Using 100% AC discount code with stopover?
Hey everyone,
I was fortunate enough to win a roundtrip flight from YUL-YXY as part of their "Around the World in 750 Stories" contest. Why did I choose Whitehorse? Who knows. I want to see Kluane national park.
Anyway. The net effect is that I have a discount code that gives me a 100% discount fare on flights from YUL-YXY.
Basically all of the flights have to stop to connect at YVR or YYC. Is there any way I could somehow do this but have a stopover for a couple days in Calgary or Vancouver, either on the way there or back? Has anyone else successfully done something like this?
Thanks in advance.

Two thoughts:
1. If it is 100% discount code, is it from any fare? i.e. can you book in J?
2. If it's 100% discount code, seems to me you should be awarded points for the flight so of course you'll want to go via YVR, perhaps with a stop in YYZ to maximize things and get on a wide body if you can book J.

Try it out for yourself on AC.com
Use the multicity booking page to create a YUL-YVR-YXY-YUL itinerary (for example). AC has recently added the ability to use promo codes for multi city bookings...so it might workk.

That worked for me once but the agent had to get special approval from his manager. I received a discount code due to my entertainment system not working on a previous flight so the agent thought I should get a discount even though I had multi stop overs (most of my flights were the last few years).
