Less Threshold eUpgrades in 2013
Has anyone noticed that threshold rewards of eupgrades is going to drop in 2013?
Now: https://www.aircanada.com/en/aeropla...eupgrades.html 2013: http://www.aircanada.com/en/aeroplan...threshold.html Highlights: * Elites get 50% less eupgrades at 60K threshold * SEs get about 20% less eupgrades * 300K and 400K mile threshold is now 40 eupgrades rather than 30 I hope AC lowers the eupgrade requirements for 2013 too but I highly doubt it. I don't like the drastic lowering of eupgrades. But I guess if you choose eupgrades for all your benefits in SE, you start off with 5 more than 2012. Does this affect you? |
SE's only get 12 credits and on top of that only 2 ore than Elite50/75K?
And then Threshold Gifts are given to Elite50/75K before SE's? Unless the amount of credits is coming down from 14/17 for O/S credits one way this will be another kick in the balls. And if they dont just means another Z/P fare on another operator because of the AC games. They must be dropping the required credits requirements. |

Still, my guess is, they want to cut down on upgrades on Tango Plus. Probably too many credits chasing to few seats, hence some unhappiness in the lower ranks. They want you to spend more, on more expensive fares. Or in other words, the threshold for bottom feeders has just been moved up. :D |
@Tax Dude Thanks for the link to the new eupgrade table. I should've added that. Though the new table doesn't benefit since i usually book non-M Tango Plus and flights less than 500 miles have usually been on non-AC metal or a DASH-8.
Interesting how they've added a new 11001 mi + level. @Stranger i only noticed a 5 eupgrade increase at initial. How are you calculating it as not huge? |
Hasn't this all been discussed before? I already knew all this.

That would affect alot of traffic on the East coast Canada to Australia. Crack heads. |
As we have seen for the last years another blow to the Super Elite benefits. Now with a 20% decrease in the e-credits.

Nope. Even YYT-SYD is less than 11,000 miles when measure "direct", which is how they do it.
Only people traveling from Asia to South America on AC perhaps? Anyway, what would be the rationale/motivation for them to introduce this category? |

I assume if you did want to go from St John's to Sydney, you would need the requisite credits for the 3131 domestic miles YYT to YVR (4 or 10 for T+), plus the 12 or 17 credits required for the YVR-SYD leg? |

Except you can't get from YYT to SYD on an 'international' flight:)

Seems the culture never changes. Still way too many too expensive middle managers trying to find excuses to justify their existence? |
