Discount Code = $2300 fare increase??
Had a small issue this summer on an AC flight in ExecFirst and sent an email. I honestly didn't expect a response. Not only am I not an elite member, I don't even belong to AC's programme. I'm a UA guy from over the border.
Received a nice email back and a 10% off voucher. Very nice and unexpected. Good for you, AC, to at least respond to those of us who pay to be in your premium cabin.
So I go to book a flight today and it's a very reasonable $4500 in ExecFirst and then can't find where to enter my promo code. Go back to the homepage and realize the error of my ways: should enter the promo code at the beginning of the search before prices and flights are shown.
New price using my discount promo code? $6800!
Yes, it was the difference between a Z and a full ExecFirst fare but it does not state anywhere in my email from AC that the promo code is only good on full fare flights.
I'm glad I made the mistake of pricing the ticket first before entering the "discount" code and realized by not taking up AC's offer that I saved myself $2300.
Bad form, AC.
Thanks for the email and the "discount" code but it's in the recycling bin at this time.

That's weird. I haven't used promo or discount codes for AC international business class flights, but when I've used them on domestic executive class flights I've been able to discount Z fares. Was your itin all AC or was another carrier involved?

Same for me was offered 20% off coupon have tried to use over several months and each time fare jumps by hundreds
. Crazy way to attempt to correct an issue of AC's part.

I'd guess it's working exactly as intended.

It worked from C class. I used it every year for a YVR - Mexico with my partner. $1500 or so for one and $200 for the other 1700 all in for confirmed Business for both of us.
