Yuki checked me in at SFO the other day. Very friendly. I asked her if she liked the switch to terminal 2, and she (along with a nearby baggage handler) both shook their heads. Both mentioned the BART is farther away, and taking the air train is a hassle.

Great Concierge Service @ FCO
Marco was super helpful today @ FCO. Had some issues checking in kids via app; emailed FCO concierge and problem solved. Needed a fragile sticker for my checked bag containing some nice Brunello; they were out at the counter so he ran back to his office to fetch more. Shepherded family to the special baggage drop and priority security. Reminded his colleagues at the gate to juggle some seats to put my partner and I near one another in our J sears. Met us at the gate as we were boarding, just to say hi and bye. Overall, no serious help needed but just such a great, personal touch. And so friendly and calm despite obvious stresses of airports these days and a four hour delay of our flight to YUL. Concierges like this makes flying just a little more human and humane amidst the chaos.

Even with the odd priority check-in arrangement at FCO, I actually look forward to seeing him. I guess I may have another chance in a few weeks. |
I like the DEL concierges and I have not flown there yet :-). Well not recently.
Had some questions for my family transiting thru DEL and always a prompt and helpful response. |

I beelined to the YYZ black box office last week after a cancelled flight (I had been airside) and it was locked up (there was one concierge behind the desk but the lights were out, and she avoided my eye contact as I politely tapped on the glass door). In fact the entire priority lane was completely deserted; I found a wandering agent and they suggested I needed to wade into the melee at the regular AC aisle, adjacent.

What time of the day was this at?
Maybe that's past the office closure times, I have no idea. But this was peak chaos...I would have assumed they might have had folks working a bit longer. |
Since the pay of concierges seems to keep coming up from time to time and dragging this thread away from its core purpose, I've moved a number of posts from here to an existing thread on that subject.
Please confine discussion of concierge pay to that thread; further posts on the topic here will be deleted. Adam Smith AC Forum Moderator |
Hi all, hope I'm posting in the right thread.
Does the Concierge office at YVR process check-ins for Signature Class pax? I'm a non-SE on an Aeroplan flex award YVR-NRT. I understand day-of-travel access is granted for "paid" fare buckets on Signature Class tickets, but I want to be sure to avoid potential embarrassment. I'm just after the novelty of it since I'm rarely on AC long haul J. Of all the times I queued at the priority line in YVR, I've never seen anyone go inside that office. And there's a separate check-in line for SEs, so I'm not sure whether that office is open to passengers at all. |

The FRA concierge team found my missing bag from Jul 1 in a ("did not know this place existed") temporary room full of bags ("thousands") from other European cities, which had not been arrival-scanned by LH. None had been scanned yet, due to staffing issues! The bag is now forwarded, hurray! Priority Baggage kept in contact with me also, but was making no headway, surprise surprise, because that relies on LH getting around to scanning a room of bags...
Being able to ask station concierges to perform a "remote hands" operation is like a SE Super Power! |

Pat in YWG is amazing. Super friendly, always helpful, and really did some amazing work with some complex huge-multi person bookings earlier this year.
From big issues to small, she gets things done and off my plate. Can't say enough good about her and the YWG team as well (Krystal and Chris). |
Has there been a compete turnover of the YWG concierge staff in the last few years?
I don't recognize any of those names. |
You are correct. Pat is the longest serving YWG Concierge, she joined in 2021. John and Krystal started mid 2021. Tammy recently moved to Montreal, where she remains a Concierge. One additional one is being hired now. The previous ones - John in particular. retired with a package in 2021.
So a complete turnover. It will be a while before they become seasoned. |
