I wouldn't even stop there. I'd like to see them do away with the evaporating frequent flyer program altogether. People should get what they pay for, and nothing more.

And yes, I'm serious.

Arguably we are there already. More or less. In ways that do not affect too much the basic airline pricing model.

Allowing people who can buy relatively expensive Y fare but not (even cheaper) Z fares to get the same results.

Pricing latitude fares roughly like Z fares.

The "FF" program has more or less turned into a revenue maximization program. Roughly what you are asking for.

  • Priority bags that really get there first
  • Priority boarding that is enforced by gate agent
  • E and SE checking lane that goes faster then non status lane (although, I wouldn't want non status lane be slower...)
  • Clean lounges

I thought the YYZ International lounge shower was clean or maybe because my glasses were off.

Sorry, I checked the acronym FAQ and I don't know what RDM is. What is it?

I also think we can solve the overhead bin issue if people would just put their rollaways straight in first (wheels to the back of the bin or handle side to the back of the bin), not sideways occupying the entire bin! My Tumi International Wheeled Office bag fits perfectly like this.

Redeemable miles / award miles.

RDM bonus = the 25%/50%/100% award miles bonus P/E/SEs can choose as part of their top tier package.

Thanks! Any chance we could add that to the FAQ? *nudge nudge*

You can find the meaning of various abbreviations under Help -> Glossary (and youll even find "RDM" there. The list is in the process of being updated)

Even though Im a mod, I have no idea what the FAQ is, guess it cant be too important.

I recently flew US Airways in the J cabin, and noticed that their flight attendants are very aggressive at protecting the J overhead space and watch the whole process like a hawk. Anyone in Y who attempted to put anything in the J overhead got dealt with very promptly, yet politely. ^
