I've seen varying bundles offered by CIBC before.. I think there was one with a mortgage, business line of credit and Aerogold type cc for 50K points once..

So the latest offer is 15K for cc, and 10K for bank, but if you sign up for both the annual fee is waived..

I pay $120 per year for Infinite Visa.. I've inquired before, only new customers can take advantage of this offer..

I thought about cancelling, and reapplying.. I guess I could have done that holding the Aerogold and moving to the Infinite..

I would have lost my 10 year history, and the nice 50K limit on the card.. so I chose to switch product, keep the history, and keep the limit.. and get 5K miles..

I've asked two years in a row when renewal time came around, and I've received 3 to 5K miles per year..

Aerogold is a CAN$ credit card, so even if you were approved, the ForEx conversion would be brutal.

Makes the best sense for Canadian residents only..

There are better deals to be had in the states..

In Canada, this offer is about as exciting as it gets..

I just opened a UCA under this promo and realizing I have to keep it open till the end of December at the least, to avoid the account closing fee.

So, in the end it will be $39 for 5,000, and if the bonus 5,000 points post on time, $42 - $55 for 10,000.

Not a great deal, but still worth it because that 10,000 difference is enough to bump me up from a r/t business class flight at 50,000 points anywhere in North America, to round-trip business class on a nice hot sunny Mexico vacation.

Mark, you just have to keep the account open. It doesn't have to be a $13 per month UCA account - just switch it to a savings account and keep the minimum balance in it to avoid service charges.

How long do you need to keep the account open? At $12.95/month that adds up quickly.
